About Me

I’m someone who’s naturally curious about how things work and willing to stay with challenges that take time to understand. I tend to do my best work when problems aren’t fully defined—when learning, asking questions, and persistence matter more than having an immediate answer. That approach has shaped how I think, learn, and collaborate, especially in technical and people-centered environments.

My background in Applied Mathematics gave me a structured way to engage with uncertainty and complex systems. The material didn’t always come easily, but working through it taught me resilience and how to break problems down when progress feels slow. Through coursework and projects in probability, numerical analysis, optimization, and generative modeling, I developed a habit of careful reasoning and attention to assumptions and trade-offs. Alongside this, I’ve always enjoyed hands-on computing—I built my first computer at thirteen, have continued tinkering ever since, and more recently have been spending time in Linux to better understand how software and systems work.

My curiosity extends beyond technical work into history, politics, policy, and governance, particularly how institutions and rules shape real-world outcomes. Experiences in student government helped me appreciate structure not as bureaucracy, but as the quiet framework that allows organizations and communities to function fairly and consistently. I also learn best by doing: I’ve skied since early childhood, developed strong alpine and cross-country skills, and later took up road cycling and enduro-style mountain biking. I grew up traveling and have spent significant time living and moving between different places, including planning and completing a two-month trip across thirteen countries after graduating—experiences that continue to shape how I think about people, systems, and the world.
